How do you protect consumers from allergens?
Here at Utz Quality Foods, LLC. we have an allergen program that is focused on prevention.
If any one of the major 8 allergens is contained in a product, it will be clearly identified in the ingredient statement or called out separately in the allergen information statement, located on the package. As a consideration for our consumers we also recognize sesame seeds as an allergen.
Our production facilities have well defined allergen policies. Procedures are in place to ensure no contamination from any allergens, as verified with strict testing protocol. Allergens are clearly identified and segregated in our facilities and our associates are trained on proper allergen handling procedures.

I’m allergic to peanuts. Are the products you manufacture using peanut oil safe for someone with peanut allergies?
All of our company owned facilities are peanut and tree nut free. We at Utz feel the final decision and responsibility to consume products containing peanut oil will always remain with you and your allergist. Here is some helpful information when considering consumption of any of our products cooked in peanut oil. All of our oils are refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD), including peanut oil. Oils that go through this process do not contain detectable levels of protein. RBD peanut oil is therefore a highly unlikely source of danger to peanut sensitive individuals. We also maintain a testing program that verifies the peanut oil is allergen free.
We believe our products should not represent a danger to peanut sensitive individuals. All allergens are listed according to the FDA guideline and found on the allergen info statement located on the package. Some products that we distribute may contain peanuts and tree nuts, but in those instances that information is clearly identified on the allergen statement located on the package.
